A family in turmoil searches for a way to make sense of it all.

The most important piece of art Matthew Banks ever created was an urn for his mother’s ashes. When it is accidentally dropped to the floor, he realizes his life is similarly shattered. His father has reappeared after a fifteen-year absence, insisting on joining Matthew’s ceramics business, and thus begins a fraught working relationship with disastrous results. Stuck in the studio inside the massive hacienda bequeathed to him by his mother, Matthew must face a continuing onslaught of challenges, not the least being the sudden appearance of a woman from his past.

A STORY OF LOSS, BETRAYAL, AND SERENDIPITOUS LOVE.

After losing his young wife in a car crash, Matthew Banks is forced to rethink everything.  His soul crushing job in insurance, a mother back in Pasadena lost to booze, a father he hasn’t seen in fifteen years, all combine to make his prospects dim. A propitious encounter with the company shrink and the random meeting of a fortune-teller on the beach help him find a new path to fulfillment, but not until he is forced to confront several perilous realities.
